Care Companions, who provide care in their own homes for the elderly and adults with dementia and learning disabilities, has nominated the Norman Laud Association as its charity of the year.

The Norman Laud Association is based on the Birmingham Road in Wylde Green and provides high quality care for children and adults with special needs.

Sushila Patel from Care Companions commented: "As a company we are keen to support worthwhile causes and I have real empathy for the Norman Laud Association. We have planned a number of fund raising events and initiatives which kicks off with running in this month's Great Midlands Fun Run. We are also planning to support the Cinder Path Run in October, having a coffee morning and making a donation as an alternative to sending Christmas cards."

Emma Holding, Community Fundraiser for Norman Laud Association said: "We are delighted that Care Companions has chosen us as its charity of the year as we rely so heavily on voluntary income and we are thrilled to have their support."

Anyone wanting to sponsor Fiona running the 8.5 mile Great Midlands Fun Run, can donate via her JustGiving webpage www.justgiving.com/Fiona-Sullivan.
