Regional heavyweights Freeth Cartwright scooped the
Leicestershire Law Society's City Law Firm of the Year award when
lawyers from all over Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland came
together last Friday evening for the Society's Annual Dinner and
Awards Ceremony, held at Athena.
Julian Middleton, managing partner of the Freeth Cartwright
Leicester office said: "We are delighted to receive the Society's
City Firm of the Year award for 2010. The award is testament to the
hard work of the entire team, who have generated the growth and
been involved in the community projects which so impressed the
judges".
The awards sponsored by De Montfort University Law School, were
judged by Law School Head Mrs Sheree Peaple and Kerrie Deakin,
Acting Head of Department, the Leicester Institute of Legal
Practice. Kerrie Deakin presented the awards to the winners and
commented that "As the local university of choice for training for
legal professionals, Leicester De Montfort Law School is delighted
to be supporting these awards for a second year as they recognise
excellence in the provision of legal services".
The theme of the evening was a "Night of a Thousand Stars" which
coincided with the celebration of the shining stars of the legal
community with the awards celebrating the success of Leicestershire
& Rutland's legal community during a difficult year both in
terms of the economy and changes to the legal profession including
proposed changes to the legal aid system.
