Leading Midlands law firm, Flint Bishop, has reinforced its
credentials in the education sector with the appointment to Derby
College's legal panel.
Flint Bishop has acted for Derby College since 2002 and the
appointment follows a formal legal tender process lead by
commercial property partner Heather Dixon with the assistance of
partner and head of construction Thomas Jacobs and employment
partner Robert Tice.
The college appointed a total of four law firms through the
tender process: two for day-to-day advice and two for corporate
governance and specialist work.
Flint Bishop will now be responsible for advising the college on
a range of day-to-day work across all legal disciplines including
commercial property, employment and commercial contracts.
Commenting on the appointment, commercial property partner,
Heather Dixon, said: "Derby College requires technically-sound
legal advice from lawyers who are well versed in the education
sector in which it operates. This appointment reflects our in-depth
understanding and experience of the education sector and comes
hot-on-the-heels of our Chesterfield College appointment."
Derby College's financial controller, Jon Mold added: "We
are pleased to be able to award places on the legal panel to the
successful bidders. These firms not only demonstrated excellent
value-for-money approaches but also that they have the right
balance of expertise and understanding to advise us in key areas of
education."
The appointment is the latest in a series of wins for the firm
which can now count Derby College, Chesterfield College, Woodlands
School and Derby High School in its growing education
portfolio.
