A team of experts has been assembled to give valuable advice
about the increasing problem of fraud in charitable
organisations.
Yorkshire Bank will host a teleconference called A Breach of
Trust - Fraud in the Not for Profit Sector at its Financial
Solutions Centre in New Walk, Leicester, between 1.30pm and 3.30pm
on Friday, June 11.
Tom Vosa, Head of Market Economics Europe at National Australia
Bank, will start the debate with a talk about the outlook for the
charity market.
He will be followed by Dr Stephen Hill, Trustee Director of the
Fraud Advisory Panel, to highlight fraud in the not for profit
sector before Sean Finnegan, Regional Managing Director of Giles
Insurance Brokers, discusses the insurance solution for charity
fraud.
Gary Shepherdson, a business banking partner at Yorkshire Bank
in Leicester, said it was more important than ever that charities
did everything they could to guard against the hidden dangers of
fraud.
"The downturn in the global economy has impacted on every area
of business and the charity sector has not escaped," he said.
"This seminar will pass on valuable advice to people working in
the industry to help them combat crime as well as give useful tips
on ensuring the correct processes are in place to reduce the risk
of it happening in the first place."
Following the teleconference, the panel will take part in a
question and answer session and guests will have the chance to
network.
