Belper based boiler manufacturer Glow-worm was awarded the
accolade of Marketing Initiative of the Year Award at the H&V
News Awards in London on 29th April 2010.
Glow-worm were recognised at the industry awards ceremony for
their consumer campaign, including their Twitter mashup website
Yourhottopics.com and the boiler calculator, which helps homeowners
to work out the best boiler for their house based on a short
survey.
The marketing initiative category recognises manufacturers for
achievement in producing original and impactful marketing
campaigns. Entrants are asked to demonstrate how a campaign
provides effective results for a business, utilising innovation to
achieve commercial success.
Katie Cope, Brand Marketing Manager for Glow-worm commented: "We
are delighted to win this award: our marketing campaign recognises
the increasing trend for consumers to be actively involved in the
decision process of buying a new boiler, rather than simply relying
on an installer for advice in making a purchase.
"We provide advice for consumers with our boiler calculator, an
industry first, as well as our blog needanewboiler.com, our Twitter
account and our new site YourHotTopics.com. This site, also an
industry first, capitalises on online conversation about boilers
and the renewables market, pulling in relevant Twitter
conversations. All the elements of our online campaign then work
together to establish Glow-worm as leaders in the market and
ultimately drive enquiries to installers, and more sales for
Glow-worm."
Judges at the awards commented: "Glow-worm's end user campaign
was both educational and informative, showing genuine marketing
creativity within the HVAC industry and delivering exceptional
results."
The H&V News Awards are the most prestigious awards for the
heating and ventilation industries, recognising companies for their
skill and innovation.
