There are clear signs that the local economy is improving as leading regional developer Cedar House Investments has sold another unit at Calico Business Park, its five and a half acre mixed-use development in Tamworth.

The company has sold unit two, Hamel House to Key Systems, a global company, which provides out of home software solutions for the World Out of Home Advertising Industry.

Key Systems, which also has offices in Sydney and Minneapolis, is relocating from its existing premises within Fairway Court in Tamworth.

Agents for the sale of the 2,585 sq ft office facility were Tamworth-based Calders Chartered Surveyors, who are joint agents for the scheme along with North Rae Sanders.

Calico Business Park occupies an excellent location on the outskirts of Tamworth at the heart of the motorway network, just two miles from both junction 10 of the M42 and A5 interchange and the town centre.

The mixed-use scheme consists both offices and modern warehouse and industrial space designed to meet modern business requirements. Only two units now remain, which are available for sale or rent.

Commenting on the purchase, Ian Morris, managing director of Key Systems Out Of Home Software, said:

"Calico Business Park is the ideal location for our new base. The high specification of the buildings within the scheme, coupled with its proximity to all major road links, has enabled us to provide a more efficient service to our customers."

Commenting on the sale, Chris Carlisle, managing director of Cedar House Investments said:

"Calico Business Park provides opportunities for indigenous growth within the area, as well as attracting inward investment from businesses further a field who are looking to relocate to Tamworth. We are delighted to welcome Key Systems to the development."

With a portfolio totalling more than £75 million, Cedar House Investments remains at the forefront of the property development industry and its diverse schemes have attracted many high profile businesses.

Along with Tamworth, it includes high profile sites in Ashby, Rugby, Northampton, Corby and Stoke-on-Trent, along with the redevelopment of the 35 acre former Nestlé site in Ashbourne.

The company won the title of Commercial Developer of the Year at the East Midlands Property Dinner and Property Company of the Year at the 2009 regional Estates Gazette Awards.
