Businessmen and women from across Nottinghamshire swung into
action in aid of charity at Ruddington Grange Golf Club.
A 76-strong field took part in the second annual Yorkshire Bank
golf day and helped raise £2,500 for Nottinghamshire Hospice,
which relies on £1.2 million of donations every year to
operate its home on Woodborough Road in Mapperley,
Nottingham.
A team led by Yorkshire Bank private banking customer George
Davies came out on top on the day and was closely followed by a
four-man Yorkshire Bank team made up of Carl Dickinson, Managing
Partner at the bank's Financial Solutions Centre in Castle Meadow
Road, Phil Trueman, Russell Kilner and Stan Harrison.
The longest drive of the day honours went to Dave King of Nexus
Total Print Solutions, while Richard Keyworth took home the nearest
the pin trophy.
On completion of 18 holes golfers were treated to complimentary
massages, before enjoying an evening meal which included the prize
giving along with a raffle and auction.
Event organiser Mike Sherwood, partner Independent Financial
Advice at Yorkshire Bank in Nottingham, said he was delighted with
how the day went.
"It really was an excellent day and everyone who took part
seemed to really enjoy the occasion and at the same time show their
support for a really worthy cause," he said.
"Nottinghamshire Hospice provides tremendous care services for
the local community in Nottingham and we were delighted businesses
and our customers could join us again this year in showing their
support for the organisation.
"There was some tremendous golf played on the day and I'd like
to thank everyone who took part and also all the businesses who
kindly donated prizes for the raffle and auction."
