A multi-award winning Northamptonshire firm has been labelled a success story as it presses on with its major expansion plans.

Multi Labels Limited in Daventry produces millions of labels every day at its base on Drayton Fields Industrial Estate, and is set for a further boost after purchasing the latest top of the range equipment worth around £700,000 with the support of Yorkshire Bank.

It follows the company, which employs 37 people, already investing more than £1 million in a state-of-the-art combination press with the help of Yorkshire Bank within the last 18 months.

Family owned and run, Multi Labels was launched by Roger and Kay Monk in 1987 and is now run by the couple's sons Nick, who has just become the firm's new Managing Director and Ollie, Roger's sister - Debbie Hockey and Production Director, Kevin Coleman.

And the firm is celebrating winning four top European Flexographic Technical Association (EFTA) awards as well as the imminent arrival of its new Gallus EM 280 press.

"This is a hugely exciting time for the company and we have great hopes for the future expansion of the business because over the next five years we are expecting to double in size," said Multi Labels director Ms Hockey.

"We have assembled a really marvellous team and are constantly looking at new ways of innovating and the new press will make a significant difference to us.

"This press is ideal for cost-effective production of high quality labels in small and medium sized runs and will allow us to process the smaller jobs we get more efficiently."

The company produces labels for more than 400 clients across the UK, predominately in the food, drink and horticulture sectors, and having built up a strong relationship with business banking partner Gary Hill over the last 15 years has just transferred its full banking to Yorkshire Bank.

Ms Hockey added: "We have swapped banks in order to strengthen our finance arrangements and to help build on the great growth we have already enjoyed.

"Gary and Yorkshire Bank have been extremely supportive and fully understand our expansion plans. They have played a major part in us being able to perform strongly in an extremely competitive market."

Gary Hill, who is based at Yorkshire Bank's Financial Solutions Centre in Northampton, said he was delighted to be supporting a local company performing well.

"Multi Labels is a real success story and with the addition of this new press they will have all bases covered when producing the millions of labels they do for some really high profile clients across the UK," he said.

"I have witnessed the company make remarkable progress in recent years and I'm delighted the bank is playing a major part in helping them meet their expansion goals."
