Staff at a Midlands telephony company are preparing for a summer of pop after clinching contracts to provide digital communications services to a string of rock and pop festivals around the country.

Solwise Telephony of Hinckley will be supplying telephone links at the two giant V Festival events at Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park Staffordshire. Headline acts for the sell-out V Festival, to be held on August 21 and 22 include the Kings of Leon, Stereophonics, Paul Weller, Kasabian, The Editors, Florence and the Machine and Paulo Nutini.

Solwise Telephony has also been drafted in to provide communication links at the T in the Park festival at Kinross in Scotland on July 9 to 11, featuring Muse, Eminem and the Black-Eyed Peas, the Download Festival at Donington Park from June 11-13 which includes AC/DC and Motorhead, and T4 on the Beach at Weston-super-Mare on July 4.

In addition the company will be supplying digital communications at the Big Chill festival at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire from August 5-8, the Latitude Festival at Henham Park, Suffolk from Jul 15 - 18 and a number of events in Hyde Park.

Solwise Telephony supplies internet-based telephone systems to businesses across the UK, and for conferences and special events. 

They recently announced that they have been drafted in by Glastonbury Festival organisers for the second year running to provide DSL connections for the telephone system at that annual event, giving musicians, visitors and organises high quality and reliable telephone communications throughout the festival.

Solwise Telephony managing director Martin Stephenson said the company's products enabled it to provide a value-for-money internet-based system that was very easy to install with a very high level of call quality. The company's systems are already used by some 600 clients including the BBC, banks, and recruitment agencies. 

"We are able to provide events such as rock and pop festivals with DSL connectivity allowing high levels of call quality. Because we have no minimum contract terms our installations are ideal for exhibition purposes. We are one of the only companies in the UK offering telephone and broadband systems on contracts as short as seven days for special events and conferences," he said.

Solwise Telephony also supplies discounted telephone lines and calls through BT Wholesale, and specialist business broadband. 

Earlier this year Solwise Telephony was acquired by Scottish telecommunications group Pinnacle in a half million pound deal.
