Shadow Housing Minister, Grant Shapps made a visit to Trent
& Dove Housing Ltd's new affordable housing development,
Charrington House in Burton upon Trent, the former Trading
Standards Building currently being redeveloped by
Loughborough-based William Davis Ltd.
Shapps, accompanied by Andrew Griffiths, Conservative
parliamentary candidate, was given an on-site demonstration of
skills by William Davis apprentice plumber, Luke Danvers. Burton
upon Trent is one of many sites at which William Davis operates its
apprenticeship scheme.
Trent & Dove Housing and William Davis personnel gave the
Shadow Housing Minister a tour of the £4m development, part
funded by the HCA (Homes & Communities Agency), which is due
for completion in September 2010.
