The Birmingham office of national commercial property
consultancy, Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH), has made a senior
appointment to its Office Agency department as it gears the team up
for the next financial year.
Alastair McChesney joins the Office Agency team as a Director,
having spent three years as Development Director at BAM Properties,
an international property development firm. During his time at BAM
he headed-up the development of flagship schemes such as the
170,000 sq ft Fore in Solihull, and the 200,000 sq ft Parklands in
Birmingham. Prior to this, Alastair led the office agency
department at Donaldsons in Birmingham.
John Dillon, Director in LSH's Birmingham office, commented:
"This is a major coup for LSH - Alastair brings with him extensive
experience in the development as well as landlord communities, and
an equally strong reputation in the wider West Midlands commercial
property market."
Working alongside John and Ian Kibble, Alastair will be tasked
with raising LSH's profile and business development opportunities
with property owners and landlords. John added: "The current
oversupply of office space in the city centre is putting pressure
on landlords, who are all vying for occupiers' attention. It's
imperative that LSH has the edge when it comes to winning those
property instructions in what is a highly competitive market, and
Alastair's previous experience will play a crucial role in securing
these wins."
There is currently over 3 million sq ft of available office
space in Birmingham city centre, and therefore good opportunities
for a strong agency department to develop relationships with
landlords as well as the occupier market.
Ian Kibble, newly appointed Head of LSH's Birmingham office and
its Agency teams, added: "Over the last 12 months LSH has invested
significantly in a national database that now fuels all agency
teams across our 28 UK and Ireland offices. This company-wide,
joined-up approach gives us and our clients complete visibility of
local, regional and national market activity - an inevitable demand
from property owners."
John concluded: "Historically, our Birmingham Office Agency team
has enjoyed a strong track record among corporate occupiers,
securing high profile property acquisitions for the likes of Severn
Trent, Biffa and The Environment Agency. The experience and market
knowledge that Alastair brings with him will be invaluable in
replicating equal profile and dominance in the landlord
sector."
