A prestigious costume hire company that supplies tv productions
and the West End has relocated to bigger premises in Leicester.
The move safeguards the jobs for Vintage Years and gives the
company room to expand.
One of the most comprehensive suppliers of costumes and
accessories in the Midlands, Vintage Years has been trading in
Leicester for 34 years.
It has moved from St Johns Business Centre in the city centre to
roomy new premises in Palmer Street near Loughborough Road,
Belgrave.
Mike Berman, owner of Vintage Years, said: "We wanted to secure
a more permanent future for the business and felt that moving to
new premises was the way forward. Hiren at Prospect Leicestershire
was a star; he found us numerous properties for us to consider and
was really supportive with helping us relocate.
"The new location is perfect with private car park, no through
traffic and is cleaner, brighter and quieter, everything that we
were looking for."
Prospect Leicestershire, the economic development company for
the city and county, helped the business in their search for new
premises using its powerful property database and extensive
contacts in the commercial property world, ensuring the company
remained in the area.
Prospect Leicestershire development manager Hiren Vaitha said:
"We are extremely pleased to be able to help another company move
premises successfully, and keep them trading in Leicester. Vintage
Years has been in the city since its launch in 1976, and we're glad
the company has chosen to stay here."
With thousands of costumes and accessories, Vintage Years
supplies corporate events, ITV, Channel 5 and the History Channel,
as well as several West End theatre productions.
Vintage Years offers professional and amateur costume hire
facilities to the public. It is well established in costuming
complete or part productions for professional and amateur societies
in the UK and Europe as well as further afield in Australia, the
Middle and Far East, and even the Falkland Islands.
Highly popular hires include wartime costumes. It is currently
providing outfits for Dad's Army at the Stamford Shakespeare
Theatre, including some costumes tailored especially made for the
occasion.
