Stoke Prior based commercial kitchen and design firm
Procaterserv, are basking in the praise of the new catering
facilities they have recently created and installed at London
Zoo.
The kitchen and catering design firm were recommended for the
project as being one of the top companies able to design and
install the facilities, as part of a brand new venture for the
Zoo.
The Animal Adventure café is housed within an existing
building, which was gutted in order to give Procaterserv a blank
canvas to start with, when designing the bespoke kitchen and dining
area.
One of the specific requirements for the café was fitting
in with the Zoo's environmental eco-policy. To ensure this was
taken into account, Procaterserv designed and fitted various
facilities including a bespoke worktop made from Resilica - which
contains recycled glass, which is both eco friendly and
durable.
Resilica is a bespoke worktop and surface material which is hand
made in the UK from 100% recycled glass waste. Mixed with a
specially developed solvent-free resin system then cast into solid
panels, the surface is ground away and polished to reveal fragments
of embedded glass which reflect light
Lee Shelton, Sales Director said "We were presented with some
ideas by the in-house team at London Zoo, together with their
budget - and we advised on lots of different options in order to
maximise their investment, and provide not only the kitchen itself,
but also all the catering equipment too.
"The budget was fairly tight, as they required lots of
additional seating, but together we were able to come up with a
solution that enabled them to have everything they required and all
within their budget.
The team at London Zoo were drawn to Procaterserv as they were
able to offer the whole package - from initial CAD design of the
kitchen, through to install and sourcing of all the equipment.
Steve Alexander Operations Manager (Catering) at London Zoo was
delighted with the results "The enthusiasm that the team at
Procaterserv has shown in both designing and developing the
project, on time and in budget, has helped us immensely.
"Their supervision of the project has been key, and we will
certainly be building on this relationship for future
projects".
The London Zoo facilities follow appointments for other
household brands such as River Island and Mama Group.
