A labelling firm in Leicester has gone to the effort of sending
a two man driving team to Barcelona to retrieve a stranded employee
who has just completed a training course there.
Label Apeel drivers Chris Robins and Gavin Watson were sent to
pick up young Dad, Mark Postlethwaite, so that he could get back
home to his wife and young child after being away from them on a
week-long reprographics course.
In the spirit of team development, at the same time as picking
up Mark Postlethwaite, they also dropped off their colleague Ian
Watson, who was due to start his own week-long course in
Barcelona.
Label Apeel MD Stuart Kellock set up the rescue mission, he
said: "As he has a young family, it was unfair to leave Mark
stranded in Spain. The drivers took turns at the wheel and
completed the journey safely both ways.
"We are all very grateful for their efforts and none more so I'm
sure than Mark's family."
Stuart hopes that Volcanic Ash will not keep the team busy again
this coming weekend to collect Ian.
