Database application and strong authentication solutions expert SymTex, based at Warwickshire County Council-owned Eliot Park Innovation Centre in Nuneaton, has been awarded value added reseller status by Gemalto, the world leader in digital security.

This means the company is now one of just a small number of fully certified resellers in the UK offering Gemalto's ProtivaTM strong authentication solutions providing greater digital security to businesses wanting to operate with remote server access.

Mark Gillespie, director at SymTex, said: "We've already had a number of UK government offices, as well as private clients, successfully implementing our strong authentication platform. This means that their data is now more secure and log-in identities are better protected.

"With so much data stored online, and business conducted through digital technologies, it is vital that organisations look to their digital security and ensure that they are protected from any user negligence or malicious attacks on their systems."

He continued: "Gemalto's ProtivaTM two factor authentication (2FA) solutions add a second factor to the authentication process and it is this additional physical factor that reduces the risk of identity theft.

"In addition to its two factor authentication solutions, Gemalto offers a three factor authentication solution (3FA) that introduces the use of biometric technology to capture a user's fingerprint for authentication.

"Not only is Symtex able to deliver these solutions into existing network infrastructure, the use of Gemalto's one- time-password (OTP) solution can be incorporated into the custom software solutions provided by Symtex.

"Being able to offer that experience and expertise is just another way in which we are adding value to our clients."

Vincent Bonnot, UKI Regional Sales Director at Gemalto, said: "Gemalto is pleased to be collaborating with SymTex, which shares our vision to make digital interactions more convenient, secure and, most importantly, enjoyable."

He continued: "The addition of SymTex to the partner network strengthens Gemalto's positioning in the UK, where there is growing demand for strong authentication. SymTex's ability to deliver our Protiva solution into clients' existing infrastructure is a key asset."
