Holland (pictured)will be under scrutiny tonight and is also
appearing on BBC2's Great British Menu next Monday 19th
April.
What is believed to be Britain's first live food and wine
tasting 'Twitter' will be transmitted this Wednesday evening from
Ludlow's Michelin starred La Bécasse restaurant, Shropshire.
La Becasse will be hosting a 75th anniversary celebration of the
iconic Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines from France.
Michelin TV Chef Will Holland is creating a special 7 course
tasting menu, while the wine-host for the evening will be
journalist and broadcaster Philippe Boucheron who has chosen the
wines that include three Châteauneufs, one of which is the
rarely seen White.
James Day, Shropshire based Food writer, reviewer and Tweeter,
will be 'Tweeting a review of the event live' for those who were
not able to secure tickets due to its fast sell out, within just a
few weeks of the announcement.
James, who has helped promote the event through his Gourmet Life
Midlands Dining Club commented "This promises to be a real treat
for foodies, and wine aficionados, and I thought for those who
perhaps would like to have attended, or perhaps may have
reservations about attending this sort of event, I would 'Tweet'
each course and try and explain what is going on, complete with
photos where possible.
Fellow foodies can then perhaps understand a little more about
the wines, and Will's incredible creations, as well as maybe also
understand that Michelin food is accessible by all, and not a tall
stuffy or high brow, which is something we try and promote through
pour network of food lifestyle websites, and dining club."
Revellers have paid up to £110 per ticket for this
prestigious event, and the thirty lucky diners will sample some of
the finest seasonal produce from the region matched with some of
the finest wines from France.
James will be Tweeting through his www.twitter.com/eat_themidlands
profile, and followers can read what is going on, and view pictures
of each dish. The 'Tweets' will also be displayed live on
www.eat-the-midlands.co.uk website for non Tweeters! Tweets
start 7pm, technology permitting!
