Leading licensing law firm, Poppleston Allen, has promoted Nick
Arron from his position as solicitor, to become a partner at the
Nottingham and London based practice.
Nick's latest promotion is reward for what has been a very
successful period with Poppleston Allen, all after he came to the
firm in 1998 on a three month trial basis dealing with an IT
Project!
Nick's talent was spotted early on, and after two years out
travelling, Nick returned to the firm in 2002 having been offered a
training contract, going on to qualify as a solicitor in 2006.
Since then, Nick has assumed responsibility for the firm's betting
and gaming work and Operating, Personal and Premises Licences under
the Gambling Act 2005. Nick acts for a wide variety of clients from
all sectors of gambling including casino, gaming machine, arcade
and betting operators, appearing before Local Authority Licensing
Committees and the Gambling Commission. He also sits on the Bingo
Association Executive Committee.
Nick has written gambling law qualifications and regularly
delivers training to operators and regulators. Nick is recognised
as having particular expertise with web based operations, and was
recently successful with an application to the Alderney Gambling
Control Commission.
Commenting, Nick said: "I have always enjoyed working at
Poppleston Allen, it's a huge honour to be asked to become a
partner at the firm and I am chuffed to bits!"
Managing partner, Jonathan Smith added: "The move to partner
represents just recognition for Nick's commitment to the job and
his clients. We have been impressed with Nick's development of the
betting and gaming practice since we asked him to step up and take
responsibility for the Gambling Act 2005."
