Warwickshire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce that
the main contract for constructing the new stand at Edgbaston
International Cricket Ground has now been signed with Galliford
Try.
Construction of the £30m+ redevelopment is already
underway on site. chief executive, Colin Povey said: "It has been a
long road but well worth it to secure international cricket for the
City and region for the foreseeable future."
Both Birmingham City Council and Advantage West Midlands have
played a key role in providing funding for this landmark project.
Phil Macdonald, project director at Edgbaston, adds: "This project
is a great example of partnership working between organisations
wanting to deliver a brighter future for the area. We are creating
world class facilities in Birmingham which will draw the best teams
and the most exciting cricket to Edgbaston. In turn this will bring
economic benefits to the region."
