Clearwater Corporate Finance, in partnership with law firm
Wragge & Co, will host two free morning seminars for business
leaders with an interest in understanding the relevance of initial
public offerings (IPOs) to their companies.
The seminars, which will take place at 9am on 25 May and 28 May
at Wragge & Co's Birmingham and London offices respectively,
will focus on the current trends in the IPO market. The events will
also examine how companies can assess if an IPO is a suitable
option for them by addressing the pros and cons. Additionally, the
seminars will discuss the risks associated with floating a business
and how companies can best protect against them.
Representatives from the London Stock Exchange and investment
bank, Numis Securities, will join speakers from Wragge & Co and
Clearwater to discuss these and other topical issues relevant to
business leaders with an interest in IPOs.
The event will include a series of expert speaker slots, a panel
discussion and lunch with networking.
Phil Burns, senior partner at Clearwater Corporate Finance, who
will speak at the event, said: "An increase in appetite from
institutional investors in the first quarter of 2010 has seen a
number of over-subscribed fundraisings on both the main market and
AIM, suggesting that quality businesses can attract investment on
the public markets. However, the decision to float a business is
likely to be the most important in its life cycle, so shareholders
must consider the risks associated and their reasons for the
IPO.
"Through insightful contributions from some of the industry's
foremost speakers, these seminars will help business leaders to
assess their companies' suitability for IPOs."
