Phase one of the St. Modwen developed Trentham Lakes District
Centre has reached full occupation following the letting of the
final retail unit to Set In Stone Hair Design Ltd.
The letting of the 1,000 sq ft unit completes the occupation of
the 21,135 sq ft of retail space at the District Centre, part
of the wider Trentham Lakes development. The six units provide a
range of shops and services including a 16,135 sq ft Aldi food
store, veterinary practice and takeaway facilities, as Euan Lindsay
of regeneration specialists St. Modwen explains:
"We are delighted to have completed the occupation of the first
phase of the District Centre with a business that brings yet
another facet to the retail mix at Trentham Lakes. The District
Centre has been designed to provide local residents and those that
work and live in the area with a variety of useful facilities and
we believe we have successfully achieved this.
"It is particularly pleasing in the current market to see a new
retail development fully occupied and successfully trading across a
range of sectors. The success of the District Centre further
strengthens our belief in the importance of local out of town
retail and service facilities and as such we are now turning our
attention to development of the second phase. Potential uses
for this include a pub, restaurant, neighbourhood facility and
possible further retail units.
The District Centre forms part of the 400 acre Trentham Lakes
business, leisure, and residential community, being developed by
Stoke on Trent Regeneration Ltd, a joint venture between St. Modwen
and Stoke on Trent City Council. Over 50 companies are currently
based across Trentham Lakes with the thriving business community
strengthened through its combination of local and national
businesses.
