Local presentation and communication company the drpgroup
completed another of its 30 Corporate Social Responsibility
projects for 2010 last Friday (9 April) by planting 30 cherry trees
at an old Bewdley orchard.
The Hartlebury-based company, celebrating its 30th anniversary
this year, has committed to complete 30 CSR projects as a way of
returning the support that the local area has shown to the group as
it has grown throughout the past 30 years.
The trees were planted at the company's new meeting facility,
which is set in five acres of its own traditional orchard in
Bewdley. The facility and orchard have spectacular views across the
6,000 acre Wyre Forest and will be used by clients as a
purpose-built meeting space and team-building centre.
"This particular challenge of the 30 we are undertaking this
year is very close to my heart," said group managing director Dale
Parmenter.
"As a teenager I used to help pick the cherries that grew here
with my grandfather, so to be able to purchase the land now and
help restore the orchard to its former glory is fantastic."
A total of 17 drpteam members spent Friday afternoon planting
the 30 cherry trees. This project will see the site continually
restored throughout the year with the produce grown on the land
used in the drpgroup's Bewdley and Hartlebury facilities.
