Lincoln Business Club is inviting people to put their questions
to the city's parliamentary candidates ahead of the General
Election on 6th May.
Instead of its usual monthly meeting the club will be holding a
Question Time-style event at 7am on Friday 30th April at
Lincoln City Football Club on Sincil Bank.
Five out of the seven candidates have confirmed their attendance
to the event. These are Labour candidate Gillian Merron,
Conservative Karl McCartney, Liberal Democrat Reginald Shore,
Independent Gary Walker and Ernest Coleman who is standing for
the English Democrats.
Nick Smith, who is the UKIP Prospective Parliamentary Candidate
for Lincoln, is unable to attend but his agent Tony Wells will
be standing in for him. The club's Chairman Eddie Strengiel
said both members and non-members are welcome to attend.
"The Lincoln constituency covers Lincoln, Waddington East,
Bracebridge Heath and Skellingthorpe so if you work in any of
these areas and have a burning question this is an excellent
opportunity to quiz the different parties about issues which
affect your business, your employer's business or the city's
economy in general.
"We hope as many of our members as possible will come along and
take part in the Lincoln Business Club Question Time and as
usual non-members are more than welcome to attend the
meeting. "I'm delighted that so many of our prospective
parliamentary candidates have accepted our invitation and I'm
looking forward to what promises to be an interesting and
informative event."
The meeting is being sponsored by The Works business directory
and there will be a £3 entry fee payable on the
door.
As usual free tea and coffee will be available and bacon
sandwiches will be on sale at the start of the
meeting.
Anyone wanting to ask a question during the event is asked to
email it to the Lincoln Business Club Chairman at
estrengiel@phoenix-ifa.co.uk. Questions can also be submitted
on the day.
