The best in cutting-edge technology in the West Midlands is set
to be displayed at the forthcoming MACH 2010 exhibition after the
launch of a new Zone was announced.
The Manufacturing Advisory Service - West Midlands (MAS-WM),
Semta, Advantage West Midlands and UK Trade and Investment have
joined forces to create a special 'Made in the Midlands' area where
local companies can showcase groundbreaking products and services
to 30,000 industry delegates.
It is intended that there will be room for more than 10
businesses, with firms being encouraged to put forward the reasons
why they should represent the region at the five-day show held at
the NEC in Birmingham (June 7-11).
Simon Griffiths, Chief Executive of MAS-WM, is delighted with
the joint approach:
"The West Midlands is home to some unique technologies and
products so what better way to celebrate this fact than at one of
the industry's biggest shows and one that attracts buyers from all
over the UK and overseas."
He continued: "Our natural innovation and eye for an opportunity
has seen us lead the way in medical technologies, low carbon
advancements and in revolutionising the way traditional sectors
operate like automotive, aerospace and construction.
"The 'Made in the Midlands' stand will bring all this expertise
together on one platform for the first time and will hopefully give
our manufacturers the opportunity to build new relationships and
secure business opportunities."
'The MACH factor' competition, which is being supported by AWM
and UKTI, is open to all engineers and manufacturers in the region,
with applications to be sent to Rita Davey at rdavey@semta.org.uk
by 22nd April.
Feedback will be given by 27th April and successful companies
will be asked to pay a token contribution of £250 to cover
the heavily subsidised exhibition costs.
MACH 2010 is the established UK showcase for the latest
manufacturing technologies and this year will showcase the latest
developments in metalcutting, CAD/CAM, engineering lasers and rapid
prototyping.
2010 will also see the introduction of four new zones, ranging
from education and supplier through to grinding and solutions for
business.
