Despite the job uncertainty facing many employees at Toyota's
Burnaston plant, they have put their worries aside to raise a
massive £3,800 for Treetops Hospice in Risley.
Treetops Hospice Ripple Appeal manager Kate Shaw was invited
along to receive the generous donation, along with various other
charities Toyota have been supporting. Kate was presented with a
cheque by Toyota Manufacturing UK's managing director, Katsunori
Kojima.
Staff at the factory based in Derby raised money through a
variety of fund-raising activities and Toyota used corporate events
to generate further funds.
Kate Shaw, Ripple Appeal Manager, said "We are really delighted
to have their support, particularly in this difficult climate.
Toyota's contribution is making a big impact on the ripple appeal
fundraising and they really are making a difference to a local
charity.
Building work is well under way on the new care centre and it's
very exciting to see it progressing every day".
