extension
The growth of Telford continues with the near completion of the
£1.5m investment by the Hadley Park House Hotel.
The new extension is due to be completed late April and will
include a new conference suite, and 10 extra bedrooms, including
two assisted access rooms. The Georgian grandeur of the original
18th century stately home has been retained through the sympathetic
works. Proprietor Mark Lewis, comments "The process to get to this
point has been a long drawn out one, but the outcome so far has
been well worth it. We are delighted with the way the new works
blend with the original, and the function room and conference suite
already feels 'right' - with views of our gardens, and ancient oaks
beyond'. The purpose-built conference suite will accommodate up to
150 but also have the flexibility to be separated for smaller
events. Additional car parking and associated landscaping will also
be undertaken.
Mark added "It was a bit of a risk to undertake such a project
last year, when the economy was in such a state, but we pushed on,
and secured the £1.5m funding, and we now see the region
lifting out of recession, and we are positioned to be the most up
to date hotel and conference facility in the region. We will also
be able to offer 22 well appointed bedrooms, and our fine dining
restaurant will not be effected"
This new build will create approximately 6 jobs and the
construction is being carried out by local firm McPhillips. "It was
important that we created and secured local jobs for local people"
added Mark Lewis. "As well as using a Telford based construction
company, we are employing as many local firms as possible to
complete things such as plumbing and electrics."
