Another successful fund raising event for the Birmingham
Community Foundation was held at the Metro Bar & Grill on 24th
March raising over £900 for the charity. This figure will be
doubled via the Grassroots endowment match challenge bringing the
total to £1958!
The Birmingham Community Foundation supports hundreds of local
volunteer and community based projects each year. Examples include
wheelchair recycling, after school clubs, dance groups, autistic
group support, nursery facilities for down's syndrome toddlers,
exercise classes for the elderly, reading class for stroke victims
and many many more.
Zoe Keens, fund development director said: "We would like to
thank all who took part and came along to support our trainee
barmen. They included David Bucknall, chairman of the Birmingham
Community Foundation and chief executive of Rider Levett Bucknall,
Philip Calcutt from Calcutt Associates, John Matthews from John
Matthews Consulting, Graham Nicoll from Barclays Wealth John Nolan
from Nolan Associates, Chris Tomlinson from Friend Digital and Nick
Westley-Smith from PCL Digital who stepped forward to work behind
the bar!
