A leading expert in youth work in the UK will be the keynote
speaker at a seminar to be hosted by Yorkshire Bank in Northampton
next month.
Fiona Blacke, chief executive of the National Youth Agency, will
be among the panel at the event at Yorkshire Bank's Financial
Solutions Centre in Waterside Way on Wednesday, April 21, between
5.30pm and 7.15pm.
Yorkshire Bank has joined forces with Northampton-based
accountants Chantrey Vellacott DFK and legal firm Hewitsons to hold
the free seminar called Charities the Way Forward.
Chris Knight, head of charities at Hewitsons, will look into the
whys, hows and what-ifs in his talk called Collaborations and
Mergers while Elliot Harris, a partner at Chantrey Vellacott DFK,
will give a presentation called Strategic Planning (forecasting),
Prioritising and Collaborations and Mergers.
The seminar will be completed by Nicholas Behan and Mario
Paparelli from Yorkshire Bank who will be discussing Return,
Reputations and Access to Funding.
Nicholas said the National Youth Agency (NYA) works with
private, public and voluntary organisations including the
charitable sector to support and improve services for young
people.
"Fiona is passionate about her work and has devoted her career
to making sure the voices of young people are heard and that the
services they need to gain training and jobs are provided," he
said.
"The NYA is a charity that was set up to work with young people
through a variety of means and Fiona will be explaining about the
group's work and outlining how businesses can help.
"Running charities involves a great deal of paperwork and being
up-to-date on current legislation which is why we have also invited
Chris and Elliot along because they will have advice and
information which is certain to prove useful.
"We think this will be a worthwhile discussion for those
involved in the charitable sector in Northamptonshire and we have
organised this as part of our aim of adding value to the business
community in the region."
