Friday 12th March will see Nottinghamshire Law Society and
Nottinghamshire Junior Lawyers Division (JLD) join together to
support relief efforts for Haiti.
The two organisations are co-ordinating a fundraising evening at
Nottingham's Cafe Bar Contemporary, one of the most exciting new
venues in the city and part of the Nottingham Contemporary gallery.
The entertainment will include live music from Nick McDonald and
his band, food and drink from the bar's extensive menu and a prize
draw. Whilst the event is being organised by the legal profession
it is open to all and a cross section of the professional and
business communities are expected to be in attendance.
Blusource Legal, a division of the Midlands-based search and
selection consultancy, Blusource, is sponsoring the event and is
strongly encouraging the region's professional community to support
the cause by donating through a JustGiving page - www.justgiving.com/nottinghamshirelawyershelpforhaiti
Stephen Warner, president, Nottinghamshire Law Society said:
"When we first heard of the Haiti earthquake disaster, we
immediately wanted to organise a fundraising event to support the
cause. By joining up with the Nottinghamshire JLD, we are able to
reach a wider cross section of the community and will hopefully
raise double the funds!"
The country of Haiti was hit by a devastating earthquake in
January 2010 which has, to date, claimed over 200,000 lives and
left 1,000,000 people homeless. The world has been united in its
efforts to support the country through relief work.
The event begins at 5.30pm with live music from 6pm. For more
information or to book a place, please contact
