A company providing a range of care services for the elderly has
launched in Sutton Coldfield and is looking to recruit a number of
care workers.
Care Companions Ltd has been set-up by Sushila Patel who has a
mix of business expertise and practical experience in providing
care on a personal and voluntary basis.
Commenting on the company launch Sushila said: "The aim of Care
Companions is to enable people to remain independent for as long as
possible. I know from my own parents, who are well into their
seventies, that they do not wish to go into a residential care home
as they love their freedom and independence. At the same time they
aren't quite as active as they once were, so having home care is
enabling them to remain in their own house.
"Sutton Coldfield has nearly 22,000 people who are sixty-five or
over. This is more than three times the national average in terms
of population density. I therefore believe there is a considerable
number of elderly people in Sutton Coldfield who are in the same
situation as my parents where some form of social care would enable
them to stay living in their own homes".
Care Companions offers a variety of care including Personal Care
to help with such tasks as washing, dressing, grooming, feeding and
general mobility; Domestic Care for assistance with housework,
cooking, shopping, paying bills and collecting prescriptions; and
Companionship for keeping a person company on outings, when
participating in hobbies or generally around the home.
Specialist Care for dementia and learning disabilities is also
provided which can include music and art therapy and providing
specific help and support depending upon a person's needs. Finally,
Live-in Care is available which focuses on providing
around-the-clock care and support.
The company has ambitions expansion plans and is currently
looking to recruit three care workers with plans to employ a
further fifteen carers by the end of the year. The firm operates
from offices located on the High Street in Sutton Coldfield.
