It was a triumphant evening, at the recent Birmingham Law
Society Legal Awards 2010, for Shropshire's Lanyon Bowdler
Solicitors, when they scored a massive away victory by picking up
the award for Law Firm of the Year (5 - 15 partners).
Having been short listed down to the final five for two awards,
those attending the event were delighted when ITV Central weather
girl and compare, Emma Jesson, together with the sponsor, announced
the firm had won the penultimate category of the evening.
Feedback from the judges praised Lanyon Bowdler as being "a
long-established but contemporary and commercially focused firm,
who had presented an excellent award submission."
Speaking after collecting the trophy, managing partner David
Battisby said "This is absolutely tremendous - to have a Shropshire
firm recognised to such a degree at these prestigious awards is a
real achievement. As always, success is only ever possible if you
have the right teams and people in place - at Lanyon Bowdler we are
fortunate enough to have just that, and I thank everyone in the
firm for their efforts in securing this award."
Several hundred attended the gala dinner at the ICC in the heart
of Birmingham, which included a thoroughly entertaining after
dinner speech from guest speaker, Parliamentary commentator Matthew
Parris.
