Midlands based firm LapCabby charges into Spain

A Nottingham company has signed a major deal which will see its innovative laptop computer storage and charging unit sold to schools throughout Spain.

Diode, one of Spain 's largest computer distributors, will sell Monarch Education Furniture's LapCabby, which is already helping 8,000 British schools to properly manage the security, charging and cabling of their laptop computers.

The deal comes only weeks after Monarch Education Furniture announced an agreement with Australian distributor, DH Technology.

Andy Harrhy, managing director of Monarch Education Furniture, said: "More and more schools in Spain are choosing to replace or upgrade their desktop computers with laptops so we saw a gap in the market for our storage and charging product.

"The last six months have been hugely exciting for us as we've teamed up with one of Australia's largest distributors and struck a major deal to have our LapCabby supplied to schools throughout China as part of an initiative being run by global computer giant Dell.

"There is clearly a demand for LapCabby overseas and we hope to have further distributor announcements in the coming months."

Karina Riera, distribution director from Diode said: "We first came across LapCabby at a trade show in London and we knew then that it would greatly appeal to schools across Spain .

"Having compared the product with others we realised that LapCabby is the most cost effective laptop and netbook storage and charging product on the market, and is as feature-rich, robust and secure as products costing two to three times as much."

LapCabby provides the cost-effective solution to the safe and efficient management of laptops in the classroom, housing between ten and 40 computers.

The product's contemporary external design includes striking ergonomic handles and rubber corner bumpers that protect the unit, the classroom and the laptops.

Other innovative features include a Green power management system, an effective dual point locking system and keys that operate from the top of the unit to prevent them snapping when the device is bumped into walls.

LapCabby's excellent cable management and power system is housed in a separate compartment to keep it well away from children, providing a level of safety beyond that of other products in the market.
