A pioneering homecare and rehabilitation support service, which
started life in Derby, is now being rolled out across the
Midlands.
Pride Park-based Prime, which also has offices in Warwick and
Coventry, has joined forces with Telford-based Mor-Care to deliver
its innovative RALE (Reconstructing Adult Learning Experience)
programme to the Shropshire area.
The RALE programme provides rehabilitation for people who have
suffered serious head and spinal injuries, often in road traffic
accidents.
Prime first developed RALE in 2005 and since then has
established itself as one of the UK's leading providers of
specialist support for individuals with a wide range of
disabilities. Like Mor-Care, its aim is to enable individuals to
have control over their own care and rehabilitation programmes and
allow them to continue with their chosen lifestyle.
In addition, Prime & Mor-care provide care for people with
medical disabilities who require long-term care, or those with
learning disabilities, behaviour disorders, mental health problems,
physical disabilities, autism and Asperger's syndrome, along with
home care services for the elderly.
Alan Gilbert, care director at Prime, has been working with the
directors and senior management team at Mor-Care and has now been
made a director of the company.
Alan originally started working in partnership with Mor-Care in
an advisory role. It soon became clear that Mor-Care had the same
philosophy towards care and rehabilitation as Prime.
The partnership will create 50 new jobs initially and will
enable Prime to continue to develop the RALE programme and expand
its services into Shropshire and the surrounding areas, whilst
supporting Mor-Care in the delivery of domiciliary care to elderly
patients.
Commenting on the expansion of RALE and his appointment, Alan
Gilbert said: "I am delighted that Prime is able to expand its
innovative range of services and roll-out its unique programme of
rehabilitation support into a new area. We now cover Derbyshire,
Warwickshire, Coventry and Shropshire and hope to expand still
further in the future.
"I am also looking forward to working alongside the directors of
Mor-Care in my new role as director."
Richard Davis, operations manager for Mor-Care,
added: "Thanks to our close links with Prime, clients can be
reassured they are dealing with a company that has many years of
wide-ranging experience, and the knowledge and skills to deliver a
support service that can make a real difference," added
Richard.
Prime was established in 1993 by care professionals Alan and
Julie Gilbert and has gone on to become a pioneer in the field of
specialised rehabilitation support. Prime & Mor-care are
committed to improving the quality of life for their service users
by enabling and empowering them to take control of their own lives.
