A Midlands based third party supply chain specialist in
warehousing and logistics, Oakland International, has seen employee
numbers swell over recent years, with the company firmly committed
to staff development and growth, have appointed Sue Walton to the
role of Human Resources Manager, tasked with supporting the firms
expanding workforce and delivering advanced training in readiness
for progress and change.
Having previously worked in human resources and finance for
Sainsbury's Sue then brought her wealth of experience and knowledge
of the warehouse and logistics arenas to Oakland and the role of PA
to Oakland's Managing and Operations Directors in 2007, holding
joint responsibility for managing the firm's developing HR
function.
Commenting on her appointment, Sue Walton stated: "Due to
business growth it became apparent the need for change. Oakland
values its team highly, so the development of a dedicated HR
function was the next structured step. We are investing heavily in
our staff through internal training, mentoring and external
development courses and we are delighted with the response that we
are receiving from our team and the associated improvements in
business efficiency and service. Our aim is to become the 'employer
of choice' in our region.

Oakland International, an established multi temperature supply
chain specialist conducts distribution schemes for UK and Ireland
mainline retailers, servicing many on a daily basis.
