Trucks supplied by the Midlands-based Hartshorne Group are
helping one of the country's biggest paper and card recycling
efforts.
Hartshorne has supplied three 40-tonne Volvo FM prime mover
trucks to the Nottingham-based fleet provider Charthire, and they
are now seeing service at Smurfit Kappa's paper and card recycling
collection sites.
The 440 horsepower trucks have been supplied from Walsall-based
Hartshorne's Alfreton depot.
Smurfit Kappa is already operating 15 Volvo's from Charthire
including two Volvo FE-240s and a Volvo FE-310 drawbar.
Smurfit Kappa is a world leader in the production of corrugated
packaging. Its UK recycling operation has two paper mills
reprocessing more than 500,000 tonnes a year - around 12 per cent
of the UK's recovered paper by volume.
Charthire, founded eight years ago, offers contract hire, fleet
management and maintenance services across the UK. The company
provides commercial vehicles to several nationally-known
customers.
The family-owned Hartshorne Group is the Volvo Trucks agent for
the Midlands, with 11 depots across central England. In addition
company distributes Hino Trucks and Lawrence David trailers
throughout the region. Hartshorne also offers truck maintenance,
body repair services, hydraulic parts and driver training
