Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCI) is responding
to disappointing trade figures published by the Office for National
Statistics by arranging an event to encourage the region's
businesses to export.
Steve Cunnane, Senior International Trade Adviser at the BCI,
said exporting would rebalance the UK economy. He added: "Given the
favourable global background for British exporters and with a
competitive sterling exchange rate, there are excellent
opportunities for businesses abroad.
"The Chamber has prioritised its well respected international
activities and important trade missions abroad have been lined up
for 2010 to brief companies on how to change their markets and
products."
Exploring Export Markets on March 25 is free and is being held
at Chamber House, Edgbaston. Delegates will be told of the support
and assistance available to businesses currently exporting or
looking to export in the future. There will also be an
opportunity to meet and question trade officers from British
Embassies and Consulates.
