Leicestershire businesses are invited to a free seminar next
month to hear experts speak about the benefits of exporting to
China as well as receiving up-to-date information on current
trading patterns with the country.
Yorkshire Bank's Financial Solutions Centre in New Walk is
hosting a Trading with China breakfast seminar on Tuesday, March 9
at 8am.
Gavin Friend, group economic strategist at National Australia
Bank which owns Yorkshire Bank, will give a talk focused on looking
at the impact on supply and demand for business in the China and UK
economies.
Jason Feehily, head of the Leicester-based East Midlands China
Business Bureau, will give an insight into regional differences and
opportunities as well as provide practical advice to assist
companies with their business dealings in China.
Mark Runiewicz, international partner at Yorkshire Bank, will
then give a presentation called Financing trade with China which
will cover payment and credit risks together with a demonstration
of best practices.
Gary Shepherdson, business partner at Yorkshire Bank in
Leicester, said this event had been organised as part of Yorkshire
Bank's commitment to adding value to the local business
community.
"We have brought together an experienced team of specialists to
talk about the opportunities arising from the growth of the Chinese
economy," he said.
"This is an ideal event in the current economic climate since
exporting is a key area for many businesses and I anticipate a
thought provoking session."
Runiewicz said the seminar had been organised to give companies
who were considering exporting to China a valuable insight into
trading with the country and to give a report on the present
trading conditions.
"Our aim is for the seminar to ease any fears businesses in
Leicester may have if they have never exported before to China
because we realise it can be a daunting prospect," he said.
"We hope this seminar will encourage companies to continue
trading or start trading with businesses in China because there is
a great deal of help from organisations in this region to help you
every step of the way."
