As Rexam Beverage Can's single logistics partner in the UK
for the last 10 years, TML manages all Rexam's can and packaging
storage movements nationwide.
Innovative thinking and value added working has won supply chain
specialist TM Logistics (TML) an £18m contract extension with
one of the world's leading consumer packaging companies.
Rexam Beverage Can Europe Limited has retained the services of
Midlands-based TML for a further five years after the company
impressed them with its flexible approach and efficiencies on cost.
"We have an excellent working relationship with TM Logistics and
regard them as a valued partner and an integral member of our
team," said Hugh Gallacher, European logistics director at Rexam
Beverage Can Europe.
"They align with our supply chain philosophy of cost, quality
and supply and have consistently exceeded our expectations in terms
of service, delivery and quality. They're always looking to the
future, trying to find innovative new ways of working that increase
overall efficiency and boost our bottom line. That's why we
extended their contract."
As Rexam Beverage Can's single logistics partner in the UK for
the last 10 years, TML manages all Rexam's can and packaging
storage movements nationwide, including just-in-time deliveries
from their two UK sites in Milton Keynes and Wakefield.
Undoubtedly, innovation has been central to the success of the
partnership. As well as using bespoke equipment, the loading
solution employs high cube, walk-through drawbars. TML has also
implemented a range of different in-cab technologies and vehicle
tracking systems to enhance customer visibility and
efficiency.
To support Rexam's green agenda, the company has introduced
alternative fuels on the account as part of its commitment to
minimising its environmental impact.
According to Mr Gallacher, this type of innovative thinking,
coupled with TML's ability to respond quickly to Rexam's changing
business needs is another key strength.
"Dealing with one company makes things much simpler and it's
also had a positive knock-on effect for customers. TML employs a
dedicated team of drivers to manage our business and as a result,
they know how to load and unload our cans properly, without causing
any damage. They've also been able to develop relationships with
our customers - a win win situation for everyone."
"Rexam continues to be a key account for TM Logistics," said
Grahame Taylor, managing director of TM Logistics.
"We see ourselves as true partners and together we've helped
Rexam grow and develop. We have a solid understanding of their
customer base and we use our experience to be as responsive as
possible given the dynamic nature of their business. This latest
contract extension is testament to my team's ability to react
quickly to changing customer needs in a challenging economic
climate."
TM Logistics employs over 350 people in 16 on-site operations
and warehouses across the UK. The firm operates throughout
the UK and ranks many top name companies such as Bosch
Thermotechnology Ltd, Crown Food UK, Kingspan Insulation, Saint
Gobain Isover and Plastic Omnium amongst its customer
portfolio.
