Spalding-based accountants Moore Thompson has continued its
efforts to help local businesses by producing a free guide to the
local economy.
Even in the current uncertain economic times, the Lincolnshire
economy is holding up well with a higher number of people in work
and a lower rate of business failures than elsewhere in the UK.
Moore Thompson's guide sets out these and many other figures and
statistics, to give an accurate overall picture of the state of the
county's economy today.
The guide also reveals that entrepreneurship is alive and well
in the area, with a higher proportion of self-employed people than
the national average, while more people than average also work in
the agriculture and manufacturing sectors.
Mark Hildred, a partner at the firm, said: "By giving our
clients an insight into the current economic picture, we aim to
help them make the most of the challenges and opportunities
ahead.
"Knowing the exact state of the local economy is a valuable tool
when deciding how and when to launch new business ideas."
