MedilinkWM has strengthened its position as the central resource
for information and support to the West Midland's life sciences
sector with a new promotion in its Connectivity team.
Awen Clement has been with the leading industry association
since 2008, when she joined as an information analyst and gave the
organisation's knowledge management processes a total overhaul. The
Connectivity team now identifies political, commercial, industrial
and academic information across the life sciences spectrum and
cascades it throughout MedilinkWM's range of 1,350 associate
organisations.

Recipient of one of the largest grants from Advantage West
Midlands (AWM), MedilinkWM drives relationships between industry,
academia and the NHS for innovative research and development in
life sciences. A large proportion of its activities involve sharing
knowledge and providing collaboration opportunities across four
'networks' covering human engineering, infectious disease, assisted
living and digital health. As part of her new project and knowledge
management controller role, Awen monitors MedilinkWM's success in
delivering this sizeable project for AWM through to 2012.
Speaking about the promotion, Connectivity Director, Chris Dyke
said: " The life sciences industry is very broad, and no two parts
of it require the same information. Also, the industry moves and
changes at a very fast rate. Awen has brought a focused but
thorough approach to knowledge and information management
throughout our organisation. Our partners are already
witnessing the benefit of her extensive expertise."
Awen is also one of the founders of the Birmingham Knowledge
Network, which exists to further best practice and thought in the
information management sector.
