The contract is worth £200,000 per year to company and is
the first win since it established a Midlands office in
Warwickshire.
It will see the caterer, which has a base in Leamington Spa, run
the Chamber's staff café and also provide hospitality meals
and buffets for thousands of delegates using its conference rooms
each year.
Three full-time catering staff working at the Chamber have been
retained by Restaurants at Work after it won the contract after a
competitive tender process, while a new Chef Manager has also been
appointed.
Corporate services director Mike Peachey said the Chamber had
been looking at revitalising its food offer for its employees and
delegates for some time.
"The tender from Restaurants at Work was very competitive and we
were impressed with the very personal level of service they offer
and also their commitment to using fresh food sourced locally," he
said.
"The Chamber holds a number of prestigious events attended by
high profile personnel every year so it is important our catering
services are of a very high quality and efficiently run.
"More than 200 Chamber employees and tenants will also be able
to take advantage of the variety of food available on the new menu,
and we look forward to working with Restaurants at Work over the
next few years."
Wyn Roberts, managing director of Restaurants at Work, said he
was delighted to land the major contract so soon after setting up a
Midlands base.
He said: "This is the first contract we have won in Birmingham
city centre, and it is a major breakthrough for the
company.
"Having previously been very much a southern based firm we have
started to spread further north over the last 12 months and we have
been really encouraged by the developments made by our Midlands
team.
"We are finding the personal service we offer our clients as a
smaller operator than some of our competitors to be a major selling
point and we hope to build our client base across the region even
further during 2010."
