A Nottingham business that manufactures and designs bespoke
tuxedo shirts is calling for talented designers to submit ideas for
its new range via its competition "Not Just Another Penguin".
Fluxedo Shirts Limited, based at the University of Nottingham
Innovation Park, produces dress shirts/tuxedo shirts, with designs
and patterns on the back that are revealed when the jacket is
removed, allowing men to break free from the 'penguin suit'.
"This is a chance for new designers to prove they can produce
commercial work and to earn a commission for working with us,"
explains Fluxedo MD, Graham Milton.
"We're looking for inspired, fun, innovative designs, to add to
our range of tuxedo shirts and to roll out in 2010. Designs must be
both creative and commercial. With that in mind, the winning
designers will be rewarded financially with a £3 commission
per shirt (for up to 100 shirts) with their design when it
sells.
"There will be more than one winner as we're looking for a team
of designers who would like to work with us on a freelance basis in
the future - so, this is really a chance to pitch to us and
demonstrate your ability to create commercial designs in the real
world, not just on paper."
Some themes to get the creative juices flowing might be;
Festivals - Xmas and Easter, Music (classical), Sports, Corporate,
Celeb tie-ins, Catering, Weddings, Military and thinking about the
ladies in your life might actually like you to wear for once.
This is a nationwide competition with no maximum age
restrictions, however, the entrant must be 16+ by the time the
competition closes on February 28th 2010.
