A fascinating collection of 2010 themed walks and evenings has
been launched by the Shugborough Estate, near Stafford.
This year, visitors attending the popular walks can learn about
Shugborough's enigmatic myths and mysteries and discover the
enthralling history of the listed gardens which boast monuments of
national importance. Each walk is followed by homemade soup and
cake.
The estate is also developing its programme of evening dinners
in the Lady Walk Restaurant, following the success of Murder
Mystery Nights in 2009.
The first evening of the year - A Forties Dinner with music from
Lola Lamour - is a sell out this weekend and the estate has also
added a Victorian Valentines Dinner and Mothers Day experiences to
its programme. There will be further dates available for the murder
mystery stories for diners.
Shugborough Group Manager Liz Carruthers said: "The walks and
evenings were introduced on a small scale last year and almost
every one was a sell out.
"We are therefore expanding the schedule to include even more
great days and evenings out. We also have an excellent relationship
with Stafford Castle and are offering joint castle and Shugborough
days with lunch included.
"Our spring walks are particularly popular as they gives
visitors an exclusive viewing of the estate's grounds when it is
normally closed to the general public."
All walks and meals need to be booked in advance on 01889 881
388 and early booking is strongly recommended.
Shugborough re-opens daily on March 19. To find out more visit
