Nottingham-based commercial design and fit-out specialist,
Paragon Interiors Group Plc (Paragon), has secured another local
project, this time with NEMS Healthcare Ltd (NEMS) following their
recent project for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of
Commerce.
NEMS was successful in bidding for a new GP led Health Centre
and a new City Centre GP practice to support improved access to
Primary Care Medical services in Nottingham. NEMS is already
involved in the out-of-hours GP services in the Nottingham area.
NEMS purchased Forward House as the location for the new GP
practice having received approval from NHS Nottingham City.
NEMS has subsequently received Planning Permission for Change
of Use for the Building to support use as a Healthcare Facility,
and has also been granted Listed Building Consent for the 12,000ft2
refurbishment of Forward House as it is a Grade II* listed
structure.
Peter May, executive director of NEMS said; "Paragon
demonstrated an excellent understanding of how patients interact
with services and brought a fresh and innovative approach to their
work. Their designers understood the detailed health sector
requirements and produced functional layouts and designs that
combined aesthetic and ergonomic elements to deliver a total design
solution. They are making good progress on site and are on
target to complete the refurbishment work to an excellent standard
and within a challenging timescale."
At the end of 2009, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of
Commerce switched from offices at Lenton to the ng2 Business Park,
off Queen's Drive. This was Paragon's fourth project at ng2
following work for Innes England, Experian and the major contract
it previously completed for Specsavers.
Alan Hardy, managing director of Paragon said; "Our work
takes us all over the country but we remain a Nottingham business
and it is always satisfying to win contracts within our proverbial
'back yard'. Alongside our core market of blue chip environments we
are building a significant public sector and not-for-profit
portfolio and these two contracts are great examples of bringing
best practice from the private to the public sector.
"NEMS in particular is a great addition to our client base as we
continue our push into the healthcare sector following last year's
break into the R&D sector with Renovo Plc."
