Following an investment of £90,000, customers of the new
look Varsity bar in Derby (Friar Gate) enjoyed their first weekend
in style.
Customers experienced the bar's new food and drink offers as
well as taking in the contemporary, yet comfortable surroundings of
the stylish new Varsity bar. The site was closed for ten days
whilst the venue underwent a complete transformation.

The décor includes soft furnishings, including leather
sofas, booth seating, new carpets and mood lighting, as well as
revamped dedicated areas for private parties - such as the Brian
Clough terrace, the Rolls Royce lounge and the Bake House - a
listed bake house at the rear of the pub.
David Scott, the Manager of the Varsity bar said: "We had a
fantastic opening night on Wednesday, followed by a brilliant
weekend. Our customers were very positive about the changes and
have commented on how comfortable and classy the new bar is, the
individual areas are perfect for unwinding after work - there's
always something on at the new-look Varsity."
Varsity will be hosting a range of parties and promotions,
including the VCard loyalty card which is available to customers
for just £1 to enjoy a range of discounts on food and drinks
and online high street retailers.
