Business rates specialist Ruddle Merz, whose HQ is in Oakham, has boosted its board with the appointment of Finance Director Nick Turner FCCA.  

Nick (41) from (Desford, Leicester) has been with Ruddle Merz since November 2008.  After obtaining a degree in quantity surveying from Nottingham Trent University, Nick spent eight years working as a surveyor in the construction industry, six of them with Wimpey Construction.  In 1995 Nick took the decision to change careers to accountancy initially working for Grant Thornton, becoming ACCA qualified in 1999.

After leaving Grant Thornton, Nick has worked as Finance Director for several East Midlands based owner managed businesses and he brings a wealth of financial and commercial experience to Ruddle Merz.

Nick commented on his promotion;"I am delighted to have joined the board at Ruddle Merz and I look forward to the opportunities and challenges that will arise as the company diversifies and grows."

Ruddle Merz has continued to grow as recession-hit firms continue to look for ways to become more efficient and reduce costs.  Over the past two years the firm has developed steadily, moving to a brand new HQ office and opening a new London office (which has since increased in size). In 2009 the company also launched another new commercial cost-saving service, RM Water Services focusing on helping business-users not only reduce costs, but also assist with advice on water efficiency and help with achieving environmental compliance.
