Leading consulting engineers, GCA (UK) Ltd have appointed Peter
Hirst as regional director.
Peter joins GCA, which was founded in Derby in 1975, from
engineering and design consultants, Atkins Design Solutions in
Birmingham, where he developed and managed the structures
team.
With more than 30 years' experience working for leading
international and UK consulting companies such as Arup, Faber
Maunsell, Waterman and Atkins, Peter is an expert in the field of
civil and structural engineering design and has worked on
multi-million pound projects in the education, local authority,
nuclear, industrial, custodial and commercial sectors.
Peter is a fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers
(IStructE), a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE),
Member of the Association for Project Management (APM) and Fellow
of the Faculty of Building (FBE).
In his new role at GCA, Peter will be overseeing civil and
structural engineering projects across GCA's five regional offices
in Derby, Stafford, Warwick, Leicester and Worcester. Operating
from the company's Derby office, he will also be developing the
company's service offering across the Midlands.
Commenting on Peter's appointment, Director Nicky Collett

experience in the civil and structural engineering field and he
will make a valuable addition to our team."
