Local Solicitors Talbots LLP and DBL Talbots LLP are encouraging
people to make a will for their New Year Resolution and help
MacMillan Cancer Support at the same time.
Gill Bowskill, Trust & Probate lawyer with the Practice,
explains "Did you know that only three in every ten people in this
country have made a Will? The remaining seven will have no control
over what happens to their hard earned possessions."
If your New Year's Resolution for 2010 is to get your affairs in
order and make a Will, there has never been a better time to do it.
During February, Talbots will be inviting people to make or
review their Will. Not only will the cost of this be
discounted to £99 inc. VAT, but also, for each instruction,
the Practice will donate £20 to MacMillan Cancer Support
(www.macmillan.org.uk).
Gill continues, "The Practice has a long history of offering
will promotions to help not only their clients but also many local
and national charities. Since we teamed up with Cancer Research in
2002, our clients have pledged over £34,700 to the
charity."
During November, the Practice saw donations of over £2,200
promised to the fundraising campaign Will Aid which supports nine
of the UK's leading charities.
Other charitable activities included a donation of £120 to
the Ronald Macdonald House which provides facilities for families
to be near their sick children in Birmingham Childrens
Hospital.
