A local firm has beaten the economic crisis by celebrating its
most successful year since launching almost a decade ago.
Newtown and Welshpool-based Hughes Architects has seen its
client base grow by almost a third over the past twelve months, as
well as seeing its workforce expand with the appointment of two key
personnel across its specialisms.
Experts in sustainable design and architecture, the company is
continuing to build its reputation across Mid-Wales and beyond for
creating inspiring buildings and spaces, whilst also respecting
every one of its clients' needs and expectations.
Doug Hughes, Managing Director of Hughes Architects, commented:
"We are absolutely delighted with how successful 2009 has been for
us and it is testament to the expertise and commitment of our team.
"With many businesses struggling in this current climate, we
have actually seen growth within our industry, with many people
taking the decision to extend their homes and undertake
renovations, rather than move to a new property.
"As well as developments within the residential housing market,
we have also succeeded in winning a number of significant corporate
contracts, including those within the social housing, education and
leisure sectors.
"Opening our second office in Welshpool in the Spring was also a
fantastic achievement for us and has helped us to provide vital job
opportunities for talented local people. We look forward to
building on this year's success and continuing our expansion into
2010."
Hughes Architects was established in 2000 and is now the
region's leading RIBA chartered architectural practice. Its
philosophy is to design architecture that is sustainable,
accessible and a pleasure to experience, and to provide an
architectural service of local responsiveness with global
ambition.
