New for 2010, Coventry University's School of Lifelong Learning
is offering managers the opportunity to increase their skills with
its Postgraduate Certificate in Management Practice.
The country is still in the grip of an economic down turn but
according to the recent government paper 'Skills for Growth' the
country needs to increase it skills base to recover from the
recession and compete in a globalised economy.
Crucial to this success will be the skill sets of managers who
will be tasked with getting the best out of their
workforce.
The Coventry University course has been specifically designed to
provide managers with the practical skills to successfully manage
their team and enhance performance.
It has the added value of providing successful managers with a
second qualification from The Chartered Management Institute as
well as the postgraduate qualification from Coventry University.
Course Director Dr. Richard Knight said: "We often hear how
people work their way up through an organisation to become managers
but have no formal management training.
"This course will provide them with the essential skills to meet
the challenges of the recession and develop their own career".
Managers with several years experience can apply for the course
without having a first degree and on completion can progress onto a
Masters qualification within 18 months.
