The initial memorandum of agreement has been signed until 2020.
A number of partnership activities between the institutions are
already underway, with examples already coming from The University
of Northampton's Events Management and Paramedic Science
awards.
Senior Lecturer in Events Management at the University, Dr.
Allan Jepson, explains: "Students gain invaluable knowledge first
hand from Silverstone's event management team and visit during
events such as the FIA GT Championship. They are also able to
better understand and observe work in progress on feasibility and
financial planning, budgeting, logistics and supply."
Thomas McNally, Lecturer in Paramedic Science at the University,
added: "The paramedic team is exploring a number of course
opportunities using Silverstone as an important element of our
teaching and learning strategy. The courses will offer an
innovative structure that will provide students with a unique
learning experience linked to practical exposure utilising the
prestigious racing circuit. Modules will develop the pre-hospital
management of the critically ill and injured patient.
